Towards the end, Janie told Cabel about her dream-sucking abilities and how much she hated it. At the same time, she tried to find out what her old friend from nursery said in her letter to her before she passed away. It said this:
"Dear Janie,
Thank you for my dreams.
From one catcher to another,
Martha Stubin
P.S You have more power than you think."
She then decided to go to the library by Mrs. Stubin's motivation and tried to learn how to control what happens in the dreams that she gets trapped into. Well, it wasn't just Janie who tried to control her dream but Cabel did his researching too.
Let me tell you this before I go on. The past few days, Janie and Cabel haven't been talking much because Janie was told that Cabel had a thing going on with Melinda's best friend, Shay, and he was doing drugs. Ever since then, she's been trying to avoid Cabel all the time. No matter how hard he tried to talk to Janie, she refused.
This was when Cabel slept during study hall and BAM. Janie was in there. In Cabel's dream, he was in a jail cell with a sign above his head labeling him as a "Drug Pusher." His head was down. Then, it goes onto the next scene where he was in Janie's room; he was writing something on a pad of paper. He then looked at her and held up what he wrote.
"It's not what you think."
Then, he went on by writing more and held up what it said.
"I think I'm in love with you." (gah! So cute.)
For the last time, he wrote:
"How do you like my new trick?" :)
Again, the scene changed to him being back in his jail cell with the sign gone this time. She was outside the cell and he was looking at her as a ring of keys was floating in front of her.
"Let me out. Help me," were the words he said to her afterwards.
Janie ends up unlocking the jail cell which ended with Cabel holding her tight and kissing her.
This honestly made me say "Aw" for five minutes. It was really cute how he controlled his dream in order to tell Janie about everything and how much he loved her. This scene reminded me of every year proms where a boy asks a girl. It was too cute.

This ends me with this. I apologize for the numberless times I've said "cute". I couldn't help it.
Awww! How cute!
ReplyDeleteI love the pictures you used! && yes. I know you're quite the romantic! Haha.
This book has a dark cover but it sounds sweet. I guess I shouldn't judge a book by its cover. I like how you should good parts and bad parts about this relationship. It reminds me of Perfect Chemistry. I think I'll check this book out some time!
